Not everyone likes the same stuff, so no one can possibly know what you would like |

Any decent, even inexpensive, full bodied red wine will go with cheese. Personally, I prefer fruity white wines with fruit - chenin blancs or reislings. My personal choices for sweet wines for casual drinking are Amontillado sherry and Rivsaltes. |

First, you have to determine what kind of cheese do you like: Manchego, Asiago, Brie, Camembert, Stilton, Roquefort, Gorgonzola, Emmental, Gruyère,etc. and then you can chose the wine. Generally speaking, a good red wine at a reasonable price is a Malbec from Argentina or an Australian Shiraz. |

The possibilities are infinite. Pinot Gris is a fashionable white wine at the moment. Try it with a full bodied creamy soft cheese - the stinkier the better. Or fry up some haloumi cheese and serve with lemon juice and a wine of your choice. If you want red wine, go for the lighter styles and team with strong cheeses, such as blue or cheddar. |

Here is a simple pairing chart (a more complex one is included in my sources) that lists basic wines with cheese pairings. You'll notice a trend as some cheeses are good with reds and some with whites depending on taste. I like Swiss cheese and I prefer a good light bodied and sweeter wine such as a Riesling or Gewurztraminer but it'll vary given your taste. If you like a sweet mild wine that is good by itself I'd recommend either one of those. Relax makes a very good Riesling for a low price.
