Try Napa and Sonoma valleys in California. They are great. So many to see like the Beringer Winery next to CIA where I trained. St. Supery is good and so is Heitz. Wente in Livermore is fantastic also. Enjoy! {:-) |

There are several nice wineries in and around the Williamsburg, VA area. Williamsburg Winery has a great reserve tour above and beyond their normal tours you can do where you get a guided tour throughout the winery and grounds ending in the reserve cellar with a small and personal tasting given by the wine maker. They make a really nice dry white call Governor’s White. Too bad you’re not closer to New York State, specifically Western New York. I work with the Niagara Wine Trail in Niagara County and could help you get a full trail tour and tasting of all the wineries. Good luck and enjoy! “In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.” – Benjamin Franklin |

Not in Norfolk, but there is a wonderful winery called Chateu Morrisette in Meadows of Dan Virginia on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I have been there MANY times (the first time was in 1986!)..and have ALWAYS loved the wine (now found in some grocery and wine stores...) the view, the food in the restaurant and the tour of the winery. Their tasting was WONDERFUL and the whole place is upscale and fun. I think they have a website. I have been a fan since my first visit...(I used to live in Winston-Salem, a short morning trips drive to VA)..I now live at the coast (of NC) and I really MISS my yearly visits to Chateu Morrisette. They grow and bottle their wines the "french way ". |
