Wine Spectator Information

Question: Wine spectator school.?

Is anyone familiar with the Wine Spectator School? I want to become a Sommelier and want to soak in as much knowledge as I can. This school looks like an inexpensive way to test the waters, but I don't see any accreditations of any sort. I'm pretty sure the Court of Master Sommeliers don't officially recognize this school, but if they can help me gain more knowledge of wine, I'm all for it. Anyways, does anyone have any experience with this school? Maybe a business owner can chime in and talk about how much weight this school carries? Thanks.

I don't think it would hurt on a resume. It depends on how high end of a place you want to work at. Could be a good place to see if you are serious about wanting to continue learning about wine. I actually think I may try a course or 2 myself

Much of this depends on the senses you are born with. All the schooling does little good when you do not have an all star noise and taste buds. These are questions you need to answer before evaluating how far you should go with this. It is a hard area to talk to restraint people as they are busy. I suggest you look for a small wine store (not liquor store). They are very into wine and people. Perhaps somebody on this industry can give you the advice you are searching for.
