How many french wine regions are there and what are they?

Question: How many french wine regions are there and what are they?

I think there are 12 main regions

The regions in France are basically if you generalize them 7 ( Bordeaux, Champagne, Alsace, Provence, Loire, Burgundy, Rhone) The above are the main areas of production. But there are Cognac, Languedoc- Roussillon, Saroie, Jura & Chablis. That makes us 12 regions.
