New Zealand Pinot Gris heavily oaked California Chardonnay Pinot Grigio usually is overpowered by the Crab, but depends on your taste. Sauvignon Blanc might be interesting too. The Pinot Gris and Chardonnay are your best bets for Crab. |

I'd pop open a bottle of good bubbly. Something slightly sweet, not too dry. Like Mumm demi-sec. Sparkling wine makes everything just a little more special too, and would complement the crab nicely. |

Try these: Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc ($15-$18) Affordable, very smooth, crisp, slightly mineral which pairs well with seafood. This is one of my favorite wines ever! World Market sells this wine. Bogle Sauvignon Blanc ($12). Affordable, lemon and pineapple, refreshing finish with no aftertaste. This is a great "weekday " wine. World Market sells this wine. Honig Sauvignon Blanc (kinda pricey but worth it $50 for 2003) smooth like a mouthful of honey with pear and apricot overtones. World Market sells this wine. World Market also has a very user friendly wine pairing search feature on their website. Link is posted below. Good luck - sounds like a great dinner! |
