Question: Wine pairing question.?
(Posted by: jonesin_am on 2007-11-17 05:04:51)
I am going to a wine tasting dinner this evening and am trying to decide what wine to bring with me. I am unsure of whether I want a white or red white so any suggestions are welcome. The menu is a garden salad, cheese & crackers, veggie platter, lasagna (both a red sauce meat lasagna and a white sauce veggie lasagna), and cheese cake. Any suggestions? I am very new to this wine drinking and have no idea what to get. I haven't really found a wine that I actually enjoy so I am asking for help from those of you that know what you are talking about. Thank you. |

Take any wine you like...i am a chef and can tell you the days of pairing are over...any nice wine...i like chardonnay......or a nice merlot...but anyone who is pairing is stuck in the 80's |

Choose RED, with all that pasta and cheese, it's got to be a red wine. |

I am not a big fan of drinking wine with a meal.....but take what you like....if you yourself are not familiar with certain wines, I would suggest a semi dry red.....(for the other guests) |

Why not try something different and bring a dessert wine? A nice port, icewine or late-harvest vidal blanc should do the trick. They are sweet and very tasty. |
